JET teacher Laurence's July Post!

Hello everyone! JET teacher Laurence here.

This summer is a bit special because I decided to not go back home for the summer. This means facing the Japanese heat, bugs and humidity in all of their glory. I live on the 4th floor of an old building. My aircon only reaches one part of one room. I am getting heat rashes and a few hives. Any small action makes me break in sweat. It can be very unpleasant at times. I think the solution to that might just be to go out more. Find interesting places with aircon, go to a park on a breezy day and have a picnic. I could try visiting cooler parts of Japan too.
Now that most classes are over until September, I can focus on trying to enjoy myself here. Go to events, meet new people, study Japanese, try to keep my house clean (always)

I also still have some work to do to keep me busy! It’s never too early to start planning for the next semester. All the work I get done now means less work in the future right?
Let’s do our best to enjoy the summer!!
