JET teacher Teresa's July Blog Post!

暑中お見舞い申し上げます。This is a Japanese summer greeting. I think the best word to describe July in Japan is simply, “HOT.”

The humidity that swallows everything during this month and next is a strong one. Environmentally, using the AC every day is awful. To avoid doing so, invest in a dehumidifier as well as a fan! The difference is amazing.

Also, Japan has amazing cooling products. For example, there are cooling sunscreen sprays, cooling towels with pockets for ice packs, cool sheets to put on top of pillows and mattresses, as well as amazing drinks to hydrate your body.

For those who don’t use sunscreen, please use it every day regardless of weather. UV rays will penetrate your skin unless you protect yourself with sunscreen.

Let’s keep ourselves cool and healthy this summer!
