Teresa fills us in on fireworks

Hey everyone!

We're in the middle of summer.

You know what that means, fireworks! Many events are coming up. They were originally used to ward off evil spirits, but now it's an important part of what summer means in Japan. Hundreds of firework shows are held across the country; they are usually accompanied with festivals where you can wear your yukata out and enjoy the night with your friends.

Fireworks here can range in size, but they can pop into unique shapes, such as smiley faces, cartoon characters, hearts, and even Niagara Falls.

As they are a very popular event, trains are usually packed so keep your eyes out on the schedule.
