So many students in Japan have to take the Eiken. It is a "matter of course" that they take the test and use it for various applications. Everyone in Japan knows what the Eiken is.

We often give students lots of tips and advice for taking the test and doing better on it.
For them and the ALTs, it is a good idea to know what kinds of questions are on the various tests.
Each level has its own common pattern. Learn the patterns and you can improve your chances on the test.
