Daily messages

Our school has daily messages from teachers on the website. It is called (今日の一枚) and all the teachers take turns posting interesting stuff, and it is not always about school or learning.

Scarlett posted hers yesterday about craving ramen. You can access her post here:

Here is the picture from the post. Doesn't it look delicious?

Books!

How many books have you read this year?

It can be difficult to get into a habit of reading for fun when you are working or studying. It can sometimes feel like an extra task added to your day.

When I read I choose to read I try to find a peaceful place so I have full concentration. For example: in bed with dim lights and candles or if I want to create a super relaxing setting I read in nature (beach, river, or a park).

I also create a target for myself, this year I want to read 12 books. When you set goals for yourself it helps you push yourself to work harder or, in my case, have more fun by reading.

What will your reading goal be?

Borrowing Books

A few dedicated students continue to come to SGC to browse the books we have here in the room and then take some home. The number of students who wanted to take books out increased, so we added books to the library. This means more and more students are able to enjoy the English books at any time. However, a few of our regular students continue to come to SGC to take books out. They just love coming here and chatting with us at the same time.

Tanabata time

Summer brings many exciting festivals and events. One of these events is called Tanabata. We have mentioned it before in past years. For many of our readers, you will surely have heard of this tradition. If you have not, we highly recommend reading about it in more detail online. Here are a few interesting links:

Here at Seiritsu, our junior high students set up a small area to make and hang their wishes.
Many of the students really get into this simple activity.
