Olivia experiences Hinamatsuri

Hey everyone!

It's now the end of the new year and I am looking forward to spring. Last week, I was fortunate to get the opportunity to help decorate a friend's temple for Hinamatsuri (雛祭り) which is on March 3rd. We took down the New Year's decorations and set up the dolls and lanterns for Hinamatsuri. Decorations were carefully unwrapped and taken out of wooden crates to be set up in a corner of the temple and everything was handled with white gloves on to take care of the lacquer on the decorations. Despite being in the Kantō region, we set up the dolls in the Kansai style with the lord on the right-hand side and the princess on the left as this is where the dolls had come from. Afterwards, we sat down to eat some tasty grilled fish, tofu and mixed rice.
What are you most looking forward to doing in spring?
