Jessica's January so far

In January, I went to Asakusa with my friend to try the strongest matcha ice cream in the world. This ice cream is sold in a small tea shop known as Suzukien.

I ordered a scoop of level 7 matcha (the strongest matcha) and a scoop of black sesame ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the strong matcha. Perhaps I was expecting something so bitter I wouldn't be able to swallow it, but when I tasted it, it has a very rich and creamy flavour which almost reminds me of dark chocolate (a bittersweet taste). Hence, it has a very attractive and alluring flavour. The black sesame on the other hand, has a sweet and nutty taste which offsets the flavour of the bitter green tea. Although the matcha ice cream is delicious, I definitely recommend getting two different flavours of ice cream as too much of one flavour would be too much to handle.

Please do be aware that the interior of the tea shop is not exactly the coziest place as there are limited seating and there are many customers walking in and out of the place. Thus, it's not the idea place to rest and relax.

Overall, I would definitely recommend the strongest matcha ice cream to all matcha lovers out there.
